Dr. Andreas Jacobs

Dr. Andreas Jacobs is one of our Shareholders and has served as Member of the Board of Directors since* 2018.

In 2018, together with a group of accomplished entrepreneurs, he acquired the majority shares of the then Berenberg Bank (Switzerland) AG and established first Bergos Berenberg AG, and then in 2021 the fully independent Swiss Private Bank Bergos.

He is an independent entrepreneur since 1992. Prior, he worked as a consultant and project manager from 1991 to 1993 at the Boston Consulting Group in Munich. In 2015, he has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors at INSEAD. In 2014, he co-founded and invested in GENUI Partner, a private equity fund, based in Germany, where he also chairs several portfolio companies. From 2000 to 2019 he managed various investments of the Jacobs family in Switzerland, among other as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Barry Callebaut AG, Chairman of Jacobs Holding AG, Vice-Chairman of Adecco SA, Chairman of Infront Sports & Media AG and Chairman of Brach’s Inc. in Chicago. Additionally, he is Chairman of Minibar AG in Switzerland, President of Niantic Holding GmbH in Germany and a Member of the Advisory Board of Dr. August Oetker KG. Also, he is a Member of the Board of Louis Dreyfus Company Holdings, a Member of the Trusteeship of the “Hilti Family Trust” in Liechtenstein and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Albert und Edda Darboven Stiftung in Germany. He studied law at the Universities of Freiburg im Breisgau, Munich and Montpellier. He graduated with a postgraduate degree in European competition law (Dr. iur.) from the University of Freiburg im Breisgau and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau.
