Following a strong recovery in the second quarter, global equity markets have mostly moved sideways recently. Only the US equity market made further gains on a local-currency basis. Markets were supported by encouraging macro numbers, a much better-than-expected corporate reporting season, and progress made on a Covid-19 vaccination.
