WORKING HOURS
We believe in being flexible and taking responsibility for ourselves. Our bank uses a 42-hour work week. If anyone works longer or shorter hours, those hours should be compensated for in the way that best suits the team. When there’s a high workload, we’re counting on you. Needless to say, you can enjoy a little more free time when things are less hectic. Long summer lunch breaks on the shore of the lake that’s just a few steps from the bank is one good example.
GETTING HERE
Do you travel by public transport? Bergos pays a contribution towards your season ticket. The ZVV Bonus Pass is valid for all zones in the Zurich public transport network – and not just for getting to and from work, of course.
WORKING FROM HOME
As our CRO once said, there was a time when working for a bank but from home sounded as likely as working for a bank on the moon. How times have changed! If it fits your work and your team, working from home can encourage concentration, creativity and innovation.
VACATION TIME
Every colleague enjoys 30 days off per year: 20 days of vacation and 10 flex days.
PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT
We support all forms of part-time employment that are compatible with the way we operate.
NOTICE PERIOD
All permanent employees at Bergos have a three-month notice period. For all positions from the executive director level and up, the period is six months.

All salaries are paid in twelve equal monthly installments.
As a way of reducing the administrative burden, a standardized flat-rate expenses allowance is paid to cover out-of-pocket expenses from the director level and up. These too are paid in twelve equal monthly installments.
Your work contributes to the success of Bergos. Our colleagues therefore receive a bonus that correlates with the Bank’s financial results. This bonus is a voluntary benefit paid by the Bank to its employees.
Your performance, your success, the innovation you have contributed and your commitment to your work are all relevant to your bonus. They form the basis for your appraisal, which is based on your objectives for the year and a regular review of them with your enabler. Your individual bonus is set on the basis of this assessment.
We offer a progressive pension fund solution. Full salaries are insured in the pension fund. Protecting against risk is an important element for Bergos, so we also offer supplementary insurance.
For colleagues with a salary above a certain amount, Bergos offers a 1e plan. Each member selects the investment strategy in line with their risk profile and investment horizon.
We offer premium accident insurance that exceeds the average coverage. Bergos pays the premiums for all insurance against accidents, both at work and outside work. We offer global private accident insurance to ensure you enjoy the best possible treatment if things go seriously wrong.
Paternity leave is four weeks, but as with statutory maternity leave, it can be extended to up to 14 weeks if this is in the interests of the professional reintegration of the partner and the child’s mother.
New mothers are granted 14 weeks of paid maternity leave and the option of spending more unpaid time with the new family member. After three years in the company, paid maternity leave increases to 16 weeks, and after five years to 20 weeks.
We are committed to promoting a healthy and positive work-life balance. A specialized external consulting firm offers expert support in difficult times in your private or professional life.
As an entrepreneurial private bank, we encourage people to take responsibility right from the start. That’s why young people in senior positions are not unusual at Bergos.
We believe outstanding performance requires continuous learning. We encourage personal development by offering additional educational leave, allowances for study fees and two days of leave for charitable activities. We also organize regular “Lunch and Learn” sessions where internal and external experts tackle interesting issues.
Good ideas matter more than status. Our flat hierarchies give colleagues plenty of scope to make decisions. This applies to colleagues of all genders, of course. We also ensure that the same work earns the same pay.
And we firmly believe that greater diversity leads to better results. 42% of our FTEs are female and our employees speak more than 15 languages; we are proud to call ourselves a diverse employer.
